About Us
Biakwan Light Green Initiative (BLGI) is a nonprofit organization based in Nigeria that aims to increase community members’ “capacity for self-survival” in the areas of WASH and natural resource governance while enhancing a healthy and sustainable living philosophy through the use of community-based and sustainable natural resource strategies. BLGI was formed and registered in 1998 with Boki LGA, Cross River State Government and Corporate Affairs Commission (Reg. No.155249)-2021.

To have a sustainable society with knowledge and dignity in overall community development.
Our Mission:
To re-establish the concept of integrity, transparency, and respect for nature to sustainably manage natural resources.

BLGI has working experience in projects that address prevention and care in health-related issues, focusing on Covid 19 awareness and prevention.

Our Team
Commencing operations in 1998 with Four (4) permanent staff and five volunteers, BLGI has grown and presently has eight (8) permanent staff and 23 volunteers including an Environmental Scientist/Climate Change Analyst, Program Manager, Admin/Accounts Officer, Database Analyst, ICT Officer, Gender and Equity Specialist, Community Mobilization/Communication Officer and a Project Monitoring and Evaluation Manager.
